What is stimuLAte?
This unique fitness concept was designed by Laura-Ann Marino, a professionally trained dancer from New York City. After many years of traveling and performing around the world, expressing herself through movement as her art, she finally wanted to settle down in one place. Starting her career back in New York City, her arrival on the scene coincided with a dance fitness trend that had just begun to flourish. In 2016, in search of new markets, the natural progression of her career took her into the exploding Fitness hotspot of Miami Beach. She found it was the perfect opportunity to continue her passion and teach her love of dance to others.
No matter how many hours she spent in the gym, she could never achieve the same body, strength, or fitness level she had as a professional dancer. She spent long hours in the gym chasing her dancer physique, killing herself with endless cardio and weight circuits. Being active became a burden and did not provide her with the body or the emotional release she once had when dancing professionally.
With this newfound knowledge of traditional fitness training, she longed to merge it with the joy that dance had always brought her. She decided to go back to her roots, focusing on the muscles that made her so exceptional at her craft, and designed a personal workout program based on dance techniques, ballet barre training, Pilates, and functional training, to create stimuLAte.
She knew she was on to something when she began to see her own incredible results, not only physically, but mentally as well.
